«Deilig er jorden» is a traditional Norwegian Christmas psalm, although in Sweden, it is in more general use throughout the year. The melody originally appears in Münster in 1677 under the title; «Schönster Herr Jesu, Herschel alle Herren» (Beautiful Savior, Ruler Over all Men).
